KHUJAND, September 25, 2008, Asia-Plus  — According to some sources, the Moscow plant producing medium-sized trucks, ZIL, will probably sell its equity stake in the Chkalovsk bus-assembling plant in northern Tajikistan if it receives acceptable offer.

Commenting on this subject, Abdusamad Samadov, engineer-in-chief, Chkalovsk bus-assembling plant, said that the plant is currently going through hard time.  “ZIL now assumes the 47% ownership interest for US$500,000 in the Chkalovsk plant and a total cost of all shares of the plant is little fewer than 1 million US dollars,” the engineer-in-chief said.

According to him, the plant assembled two buses ChAZ last year and two other buses Khujand-ZIL-32212 have been assembled this year, while the plant is capable to assemble up to eight buses per year.

“Therefore, we have to develop manufacture of new products – trailers for small cars with carrying capacity of 350 kilograms,” said Samadov, “This year, we have produced 30 such trailers.  We also intend to develop manufacture of farm implements and repairs to vehicle.”
