The only GPW veteran in Dushanbe allocated more than 80,000 somoni

The mayor's office of Dushanbe allocated him 25,000 somoni.

On the eve of Victory Day, the only living veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 (GPW) in Dushanbe, Bozor Naghzibekov, received financial assistance on behalf of the country’s and capital’s leadership.

On behalf of Dushanbe Mayor, Rustam Emomali, the veteran was allocated 25,000 somoni, the Dushanbe mayor’s office reported. Additionally, assistance was provided on behalf of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon — 50,000 somoni, and the leadership of Dushanbe’s Sino district — 12,500 somoni.

A group of representatives from President’s Executive Office and the Dushanbe Administration visited the veteran.

During the visit, Bozor Naghzibekov was expressed gratitude and respect for his contribution to Victory and a peaceful future.

In Bokhtar, the capital of the Khatlon province, representatives of President’s Executive Office, the Khatlon regional administration, and the city of Bokhtar visited the GPW veteran Safarali Faizaliyev and handed him financial assistance.

On behalf of President Emomali Rahmon, the veteran was allocated 50,000 somoni, from the leadership of the Khatlon region — 15,000 somoni, and from the leadership of Bokhtar — 10,000 somoni, along with festive gifts.

It is worth noting that this year President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon allocated 50,000 somoni to each GPW veteran, of whom there are currently 8 people left in the country.

Earlier, the leadership of the Sughd province reported that 25,000 somoni were allocated to each GPW veteran, of whom 2 people remain in this province. Additionally, each home front worker, totaling 39 people, will be paid 10,000 somoni.

As of April 30, 2026, there are 8 GPW veterans living in Tajikistan. On April 30, GPW veteran from Khuroson Mirzo Ghafourov passed away. Prior to this, on April 27, Rajab Ismonov, the last GPW veteran from Hisor, died.
