DUSHANBE, July 15, 2013, Asia-Plus — According to Tajik migration service agency’s office in Moscow, two Tajik nationals were injured in the Podolsk traffic accident
Ibrohim Ahmadov, a spokesman for the Tajik migration service agency, says Anvar Qudratullo, 23, and Behrouz Egamov, 26, were injured in the Oznobishino bus crash.
“Both of them are now in hospital and physicians assess their health condition as satisfactory,” Ahmadov added.
The Oznobishino bus crash occurred on July 13 at about 13:00 when a bus carrying 60 people was hit by a KAMAZ truck in Oznobishino, Moscow oblast, 40 kilometers southwest of Moscow. At least 18 people were killed and another 29 people were hospitalized, with 12 of them in a critical condition. 14 of the victims died at the scene and another four died in hospital. The bus had been travelling from Podolsk to Kurkino when the accident occurred, ripping its back half off.
The truck, which was carrying a load of gravel, was reported to have overtaken several other vehicles at speed and on the wrong side of the road when it tipped over and crashed into the bus. Its gravel load was flung into the bus, burying many of the passengers. The victims of the crash had to be dug out from the 12 cubic meters of gravel being carried by the truck and their injuries were exacerbated by the effects of being buried under it. 30 ambulances and a helicopter were used to convey the injured to hospital.
