KHUJAND, August 1, 2013, Asia-Plus — Deputy chief of the military registration and enlistment office in the Bobojonghafurov district, Sughd province faces bribery charge, according to the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd.

He has reportedly been caught red-handed while taking 1,400 U.S. dollars from local resident for military service certificate.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt recruitment officer under the provisions of Article 247 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud; an investigation is under way.

The anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd says 47 fraud cases have been reported in the province over the first six months of this year.
