DUSHANBE, September 19, 2008, Asia-Plus – A comprehensive anthology of the great Tajik-Persian poet Abu Abdollo Roudaki, known as the father of Persian poetry, was published in Arabic script in Dushanbe.

The book was published as part of the programs marking 1150th birthday anniversary of the poet in cooperation with Iran”s Embassy in Dushanbe, Roudaki Foundation, the Institute for Oriental Studies and the Institute for Language and Literature at the Tajik Academy of Sciences, according to IRNA.

The book, which was published by Peyvand Printing House of Iran”s Embassy in 1,000 copies, will be made available to Tajikistan”s scientific and academic circles.

A preface to the book by Iran”s Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali Asghar Sherdoust says that Roudaki was not only a poet but also a distinguished musician and narrator of stories about the ancient Iranian civilization and culture.
