Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe, will host the Sambo World Cup for the second consecutive time. Last year, Tajikistan’s capital welcomed participants of one of the main sambo tournaments in the international calendar for the first time.
On September 19-20, Tajikistan will host the Sambo World Cup for the second consecutive time. After a successful debut in September 2025, the tournament is returning to Central Asia, confirming Dushanbe’s status as a reliable venue for hosting major international sambo competitions.
The strongest sambo athletes from around the world will compete for medals in 28 weight categories in both sports and combat sambo among men and women.
The draw will consider the international ranking of athletes, ensuring spectacular and principled matches from the very first bouts of the tournament.

Weight categories:
Sports Sambo (Men): -58kg, -64kg, -71kg, -79kg, -88kg, -98kg, and +98 kg.
Sports Sambo (Women): -50kg, -54kg, -59kg, -65kg, -72kg, -80kg, and +80 kg.
Combat Sambo (Men): -58kg, -64kg, -71kg, 79-79kg, -88kg, -98kg, and +98 kg.
Combat Sambo (Women): -50kg, -54kg, -59kg, -65kg, -72kg, -80kg, and +80 kg.
Last year, the Sambo World Cup in Dushanbe featured 178 athletes from 12 countries. Participating countries included Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Hungary, and others. Medals were contested in 28 weight categories in both sports and combat sambo among men and women. Each country could enter two athletes in each weight category.
On the first day, our bronze medalists were Komronshoh Ustopiriyon (98 kg) and Anushervon Nazarzoda (58 kg).

On the second day, Faridoun Odilov (98 kg) and Khalid Tolibzoda (88 kg) won gold, silver went to Jumakhon Husain (98 kg) and Mustafo Alibekov (88 kg), and bronze to Isfandiyor Kholov (79 kg in combat sambo).
The 2025 World Cup took place in two stages: the first stage was held in June in Yerevan (Armenia), and the second in Dushanbe.
