DUSHANBE, August 15, 2013, Asia-Plus — Over the first seven months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to more than 2.9 billion U.S. dollars, which was 104 percent of the January-July 2012 level or 96.4 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
The trade balance was negative and exceeded 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.
Exports of goods in January-July this year have amounted to 692.1 million U.S. dollars, which was 10.7 percent, or 82.9 million U.S. dollars, fewer than in the same period last year.
Imports of goods into the country over the same seven-month period have amounted to some 2.25 billion U.S. dollars, which was 9.5 percent, or 195.6 million U.S. dollars, more than in January-July last year.
In January-July this year, Tajikistan has had relations with 95 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.
In January-July 2013, Tajikistan’s major trading partners were: Russia – more than 532 million U.S. dollars; Kazakhstan – more than 381 million U.S. dollars; Turkey – more than 351 million U.S. dollars; and China – more than 345 million U.S. dollars, the Agency for Statistics said.
