DUSHANBE, September 12, 2008, Asia-Plus — An official ceremony of handover of 3,000 tons of low-sulphur residual oil (mazut) from UNDP CO Tajikistan to the Dushanbe heat and power station, scheduled for September 12, has been postponed probably till mid-October, according to the UNDP Dushanbe Office.
The source at the UNDP Dushanbe Office said that the handover ceremony had been postponed at request of the government.
The fuel oil to be handed over to the Dushanbe head and power station by the UNDP CO Tajikistan is expected to increase heating through the central heating system that would decrease the demand for electricity for heating in the areas served by the system, and also increase the overall electrical supply for heating in areas not served by the central heating system.
