KHUJAND, January 9, 2014, Asia-Plus — Tanin TV yesterday became the third independent TV station to begin broadcasting in Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province.

According to the press center of the Khujand mayor’s office, the TV station will be on the air 18 hours a day – from 6:00 to 24:00.

The founder and director of Tanin TV is Tajik singer Shermuhammad Shermatov.

The station is still working in a testing regime and an official opening of Tanin TV is expected to take place in late January, the source said.
