DUSHANBE, January 30, 2014, Asia-Plus – The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has joined a global high-speed network of Thomson Reuters Corp.

According to the NBT press center, the Thomson Reuters Corp high-speed network, which has more than 100,000 subscribers around the world, distribute financial statistical data to many countries of the world.

NBT’s joining this network reportedly paves the way for expansion of cooperation of Tajikistan with other countries.

Thomson Reuters Corp launched its global, high-speed network in April 2010 for financial firms to access real-time data as well as share information with each other directly.

The company”s new network, called Elektron, includes hosting centers in New York, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Singapore, all connected by a fiber optic ring.

The company is reportedly operating the system in partnership with data center company Savvis Inc.

Elektron provides any Thomson Reuters client of any size equal access to high-frequency markets.  It also serves as a neutral distribution platform for participants to exchange research, prices, business ideas or transactions.

Thomson Reuters Corporation is a multinational media and information firm based in New York City.  It was created by the Thomson Corporation”s purchase of British-based Reuters Group on April 17, 2008.

The National Bank of Tajikistan is the central bank of Tajikistan.  The Bank is engaged in developing policies to promote financial inclusion and is a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion.
