DUSHANBE, February 13, 2014, Asia-Plus – Launched in December last year, Tajikistan’s e-government portal (

www.hukumat.tj

) is still working in the test regime, Qadamjon Safiyev, the head of the Information and Communication Technology Center at President’s Executive office, told Asia-Plus today morning.

According to him, specialists are still studying technical, information and design aspects of the portal and the launch of the final version of the portal depends on efforts of the working group.

“There is no exact date for the launch of the final version of the portal yet,” Safiyev noted.

Tajikistan has been working on launching electronic government since 2011.  In early 2011, Estonian experts on electronic governance conducted training seminar for Tajik government officials.

The Estonian E-Governance Academy (EGA) trained government staff members at the State Committee of Investments and State-owned Property Management, also known as GosKomInvest, to use new developments in internet and communication technologies (ICT) to facilitate government business.

GosKomInvest held its first press conference through video link in January 2011.  During the press conference, the main office in Dushanbe was connected with the Committee’s sub-offices in Sughd and Khatlon provinces and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), which was an important milestone towards crating e-government in the country.

We will recall that in a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, the deputy head of the communications service agency, Rafiqjon Shokirov, noted last week that “e-government will be fully created in Tajikistan by 2025.”
