DUSHANBE, March 18, 2014, Asia-Plus — Two Afghan drug traffickers have reportedly been killed in crossfire on the Tajik-Afghan border in the southern Khatlon province.
According to Tajikistan’s Main Border guard Directorate, Tajik border guards on a routine patrol spotted four armed Afghan drug traffickers who were illegally crossing the border river in the Hamadoni district late Monday.
“As a result of skirmish, two trespassers were killed and two others managed to escape,” the source said, noting that Tajik borer guard Sirojiddin Maroufov was killed in skirmish with Afghan drug traffickers that took place in the same area on February 21.
