The statement says that it is noteworthy that the US State Department is feverishly collecting any speculations, distributed by the current Kyiv authorities, to substantiate the accusations against Russia for the instigation of unrest in South-Eastern Ukraine.
The statement notes: “What are the two hastily arranged press releases of 13 April with a pile of dubious ‘facts’ about the involvement of Russian special forces in seizing administrative buildings worth. The quality of such ‘agitprop’ can be judged by convincing ‘proof’ for the State Department, as ‘Kalashnikov’ machineguns, seen in the hands of some protestors, wearing camouflage uniforms. As if the US foreign service is not aware that the Ukrainian army and power structures use those.”
Further it states that the do not accept the Washington thesis about the commitment of the temporary Ukrainian government on “protecting the rights of all citizens of the country.” Russian Foreign Ministry states: “It is definitely possible to call black white, but it is impossible refute the obvious – the Russophobe and anti-Semitic ‘Freedom’ party, led by O. Tyagnibok, as a result of the coup d’états received a number of ministry portfolios and the post of the General-Prosecutor.”
– But the main point is not even distortion of facts, but the stubborn unwillingness or inability to see reality as it really is, and the attempt to impose a distorted perception to the rest of the world on what is happening in South-Eastern Ukraine. Excessively justifying a briefing to briefing “Maidan heroes”, and referring to it as a popular revolution, but referring to protests in Dontsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Slavyansk, and other cities, as forays by terrorists led by outside, is not just double standards, but a blatant hypocrisy.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes: “When the ruling regime in Kyiv bet on using force, public reasoning of White House and State Department officials that it is a matter of “maintaining order” does not mean anything else, but approval of a war declared on their own people. Washington must be aware of catastrophic consequences of such reckless support of their fosterlings in Kyiv.”
