KHUJAND, June 5, 2014, Asia-Plus — 143 vulnerable families from Khujand, the capital of Sughd province have received land plots for housing, according to the Sughd regional administration press center.

Speaking at the land-allotment ceremony, Sughd governor Abdurahmon Qodiri noted on June 4 that more than 3,000 residents of Khujand are on the housing list now.  “The housing problem will be solved in the city within the next five years,” the governor noted.

According to him, more than 2,000 hectares will be allotted for housing in the Somgor area, Bobojonghafourov district in the near future.

Qodiri also noted that four kindergartens for 280 children, four schools to accommodate 1,250 pupils, 10 sports grounds and four health centers would be built in Khujand’s neighborhoods 14 and 15 under the municipal construction plan.
