DUSHANBE, June 18, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Monday June 16, Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) met here with Nazim Aksoy’a, Coordinator, Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA).
According to the Tajik CCI press center, the two discussed issues related to expansion of business cooperation.
Sharif Said reportedly pointed to the necessity of combining efforts to ensure closer business partnership and proposed to hold an exhibition of Turkish textile products in Dushanbe in 2015.
Nazim Aksoy’a, for his part, noted that TIKA has maintains close ties with many business organizations within the CIS area. He proposed to make presentation for Tajik textile companies in Turkey’s Bursa Province
Bursa Province is located along the Sea of Marmara coast in northwestern Anatolia. Its administrative center, Bursa, was traditionally famous for being the largest center of silk trade in the Byzantine and later the Ottoman empires, during the period of the lucrative Silk Road. The city is still a major center for textiles in Turkey and is home to the Bursa International Textiles and Trade Center.
Founded in 1992, the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) is a government department of the Prime Ministry of Turkey. TIKA is responsible for organization of the bulk of Turkey”s official development assistance to developing countries. TIKA is ranked amongst the Turkish organizations that carry out most technical co-operations with Turkic speaking countries. Focusing on development collaboration, TIKA works in 100 countries, including the ones where their offices are located.
