DUSHANBE, September 2, 2014, Asia-Plus — An official visit of President Xi Jinping to Tajikistan will give a new impulse to expansion of bilateral ties between China and Tajikistan, China’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Fan Xianrong told journalists in Dushanbe on September 2.

According to him, a number of documents on expansion of bilateral cooperation between China and Tajikistan in various fields, including economics, education, defense and security, will be signed during President’s Xi upcoming visit to Dushanbe.

While in Dushanbe, President Xi will hold talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.  Personal contacts between the two leaders play an important role in promoting expansion of bilateral cooperation, noted Ambassador Fan.

Emomali Rahmon and Xi Jinping are expected to participate in an official ceremony of introducing the second unit of the Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power (CHP) plant into operation.

An official visit of China’s President Xi Jinping to Tajikistan is scheduled for September 12-13.
