DUSHANBE, September 11, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday September 10, visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani met here with Shukurjon Zuhurov, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Lower House (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of Parliament.

The meeting was held as part of Iranian president’s visit to Tajikistan where a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is to be held.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the sides discussed bilateral issues as well as regional and international developments.

Tajik parliament speaker reportedly expressed confidence that Rouhani’s visit will open a new chapter in Tajikistan-Iran relations.
