Afghan interior minister arriving in Tajikistan today

DUSHANBE, July 8, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Afghan Minister of Interiors, Zarorahmad Muqbil, is arriving in Tajikistan today for a four-day working visit.  

According to the Afghan Embassy in Dushanbe,  Mr. Muqbil will hold talks with his Tajik counterpart, Minister Mahmadnazar Solehov, to discuss efforts to fight transnational organized crime, organize and carry out joint operations  to prevent drug trafficking and discover routes through which Afghan drugs are being smuggled into Tajikistan, etc.  

During his stay in Tajikistan, the Afghan minister is also scheduled to hold talks with heads of relevant ministries and agencies of Tajikistan to discuss cooperation issues, including training of police personnel for Afghanistan at Tajik educational facilities. 

Zarorahmad Muqbil’s visit to Tajikistan will last till July 11.
