DUSHANBE, July 7, 2008, Asia-Plus – A number of heart sufferers is increasing in Gorno Badakhshan.
According to Avazbek Qudratbekov, the head physician of the Cardiologic Center in Khorog, 950 people have undergone medical treatment for heart diseases over the first six months of this year, which is 100 people more than in the same period of last year.
The physician noted that increase in the number of heart diseases had resulted from socioeconomic factors and climatic conditions. “The majority of those taking medical advice have high pressure,” Qudratbekov said.
