DUSHANBE, October 23, 2014, Asia-Plus — A delegation of the ruling People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan (PDP), numbering 17 people, is currently on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China.

“The delegation arrived in China on October 23 on a 13-day working visit at the invitation of the China Foundation for Peace and Development and it will visit Chinese major cities to get acquainted with the personnel policy of the Chinese Communist Party and cooperation of Chinese Communists with media outlets,” Usmon Soliyev, the head of the PDP public relations department, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Founded in 1994, the People’s Democratic Party is the largest political party in Tajikistan, boasting some 250,000 registered members.  President Emomali Rahmon is chairman of the party.  The PDP now controls more than 60 percent of the seats in parliament.

Founded in January 2011, China Foundation for Peace and Development is a national non-profit organization. The Foundation aims to enhance people’s friendship, carry out international charities, further international cooperation, safeguard world peace and promote common development.

The main missions of CFPD are in striving for world peace and prosperity that CFPD aspires to through its increasing network of partners and implementation of numerous charity projects around the world in the sphere of education, better health care and so forth.
