DUSHANBE, January 17, 2014, Asia-Plus – In 2014, Tajikistan produced a total of more than 10.5 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 2 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to 2013 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 105.1 percent.

Processing industry reportedly accounted for 66.1 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced last year, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water accounted for 20.6 percent and mining industry accounted for 13.3 percent.

Of 1,183 industrial enterprises registered in the country, 149 enterprises were not in operation last year. 

Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 40 increased last, and the output of 37 items decreased in 2014.  Thirteen basic types of industrial products were not manufactured last year.
