DUSHANBE, February 12, 2015, Asia-Plus — Tajik national currency, the somoni, has lost 4.4 percent of its value against the dollar since the beginning of this year.

The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) said on February 11 that an average market purchase rate of the dollar (USD) against the national currency, the somoni (TJS), has risen from 1:5.465 on January 1 to 1:5.7025.

In Tajikistan’s interbank currency market, the average rate of the dollar against the somoni has risen over the report 4.0 percent – from 1:5.3618 on January 1 to 1:5.5225 on February 11.

An official exchange rate between USD and TJS set by the National Bank of Tajikistan reportedly has risen only 1.8 percent – from 1:5.3074 on January 1 to 1:5.3907 on February 11.
