Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at 344.8 million USD in January 2015

DUSHANBE, February 17, 2015, Asia-Plus — In January 2015, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, amounted to 344.8 million U.S. dollars, which was 87.4 percent of the January 2014 level, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to December 2014, the external trade turnover last month reportedly reduced by 25.4 percent, or by 117.3 million USD.   

In January 2015, the trade balance was negative and amounted to 167.2 million U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods last month amounted to little more than 93.8 million U.S. dollars, which was 31.9 percent, or 22.7 million USD, more than in the same period last year.

Over the report period, imports of goods into the country amounted to more than 251 million U.S. dollars, which was 22.4 percent, or 72.3 million USD, more than in January 2014.   

In January this year, Tajikistan had trade relations with 65 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

In January 2015, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 85 million USD; Switzerland – 47.6 million USD; Kazakhstan – 47.4 million USD; China – 39.7 million USD; and Turkey – 24.7 million USD.
