DUSHANBE, March 2, 2014, Asia-Plus – Director of the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA), Lieutenant-General Rustam Nazarzoda, met here with Colonel Silvan Laniel (phonetically spelled), Defense  Attache of France’s Embassy in Kabul, on February 27.

According to the DCA press center, Tajik drug control chief briefed French diplomat on the current drug situation in Tajikistan and the region as a whole, regional cooperation on preventing drug trafficking and on joint operations carried by Tajik drug control officers in cooperation with Afghan law enforcement agencies.

Colonel Silvan Laniel, for his part, noted that France could provide assistance with conducting training at the DCA Training Center not only for officers from Tajik law enforcement agencies but also for law enforcement officers from other Central Asian countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The two also discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation, the source aid.
