DUSHANBE, June 7, Asia-Plus  — 20,000 blank foreign passports are expected to be delivered to Tajikistan from Kazakhstan on Tuesday June 10, the MFA information department head Davlat Nazriyev said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, shortage of blank passports for foreign travels occurred in early spring in connection with labor migration.

The shortage of blank passports has resulted from technical problems at Kazakh central bank’s banknote enterprise, which produces blank foreign passports for Tajikistan.  “Because of Technical problems the Kazakh banknote enterprise failed to produce the enough number of blank passports,” said the MFA spokesman.  “We hope that all problems connected with shortage of blank passports for foreign travel will be resolved soon.”
