DUSHANBE, March 16, 2015, Asia-Plus — Tajik police reportedly seized more than 47 kilograms of narcotics last Sunday.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, 31 kilogram of raw opium were found hidden in a home of the 23-year-old resident of the northern city of Panjakent, Izzatullo Ghafforov, on March 15.

The 33-year-oldresident of the Roudaki district, Sorjiddin Sharifov, was detained in Khujand, the capital of the northern province of Sughd on suspicion of drug pushing.  Nearly nine kilograms of hashish were confiscated from him.

The 43-year-old resident of Khatlon’s Panj district, Emomali Khudoinazarov, was detained with nearly five kilograms of hashish in Dushanbe.

Besides, three residents of GBAO’s Shugnan district were detained in Dushanbe on suspicion of drug trafficking on the same day.  More than two kilograms of hashish were confiscated from them.
