DUSHANBE, April 6, 2015, Asia-Plus – The State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) today hosted a roundtable to attract foreign investments in Tajikistan’s economy.
The main objective of the event was in discussing the ways to attract foreign investments in the country’s economy and determining obstacles on the way of foreign investments in Tajikistan’s economy.
Mr. Richard Jones, Head of EBRD Resident Office in Dushanbe, Ms. Kristin Laabs, KfW Country Director for Tajikistan, and rectors of a number of Tajik universities delivered statements at the meeting, an official source at GosKomInvest said.
Mr. Frederic Lobbe, Director General of Shiever Tajikistan, China’s sales representative and representatives of Tajik-Sino Mining Company reportedly addressed the meeting on behalf of foreign investors.
Speaking at the meeting, GosKomInvest representatives noted that the elaboration process for Tajikistan’s new law on investments was under way.
The roundtable resulted in adoption of a statement, which in particular, points to the necessity of establishing the Investment Insurance Fund and working out the Innovative Investment Strategy.
