DUSHANBE, April 9, 2015, Asia-Plus — A 51-year-old resident of the northern city of Khujand has been detained on suspicion of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the preliminary investigation has established the 51-year-old resident of Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province sexually assaulted the 5-year-old girl in his home on April 8, at around 7:00 am.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained rapist and an investigation is under way.
