DUSHANBE, May 30, Asia-Plus  — Abdullo Safarov, children’s surgeon at the National Sino Medical Center (formerly Republican Clinical Hospital # 3 in Dushanbe), has been honored with gold medal of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)  for the best innovation work, Asia-plus has learned at press service of the Ministry of Health (MoH).  

The press service said that the award was given to the Tajik physician during international conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Tajikistan’s national Patent and Information Center that was held in Dushanbe with participation of WIPO representatives on May 28.

The conference considered issues related to innovations and protection of innovators’ rights.  

Mr. Abdullo Safarov is Associate Professor at State Medical University also head of the children’s surgery department within the National Medical Center.  HE is author of more than 100 scientific works.     

 The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of the 16 specialized agencies of the United Nations.  WIPO was created in 1967 with the stated purpose to encourage creative activity, and]to promote the protection of intellectual property  throughout the world.



 

WIPO currently has 184 member states, administers 23 international  treaties, and has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
