DUSHANBE, May 27, Asia-Plus  — We intend to demonstrate opportunities of the Tajik language in learning and training in information technologies (IT) through holding an international conference formally entitled “Tajik Language and Information Technologies,” Tolib Rozi, the head of the terminology committee within the Academy of Sciences, announced at a press conference in Dushanbe on May 27.   

According to him, the other objective of the conference is to draw attention of society to the problems of adaptation of the Tajik language to the computer and information technologies.   

Speaking to reporters, the Mr. Rozi noted that media do not pay proper attention to coverage of that issue and called on journalists to consider that subject more seriously.   

The international two-day conference, staged by the government, terminology committee, ministries of culture and education, as well as the committee for TV and radio-broadcasting under support of Relief International, ICT-ENTPE, CIPI, Babilon-T and Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation – Tajikistan, will open at the Academy of Sciences on May 28.  

The conference participants include representatives of Tajikistan, the United States, Afghanistan, and Iran.
