QURGHON TEPPA, May 13, 2015, Asia-Plus — Torrential rain on May 11-12 caused serious damage to several villages in the Vakhsh district, Khatlon province.
“Torrential rain has led to a flooding that has caused serious damage to dozens of residential buildings in the district,” Vakhsh deputy head, Abduqahhor Fayzulloyev, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Khatlon emergencies official, Hotamsho Sharippov says a special government commission is currently working in Vakhsh, Jilikul, Qubodiyon and Khuroson districts to assess an actual damage caused by the disaster to the districts.
“The most serious situation is currently in the Roudaki jamoat of the Vakhsh district and we have asked local authorities to evacuate residents of the village of Dousti and some residents of the village of Barakat,” Sharipov said.
