DUSHANBE, May 28, 2015, Asia-Plus — The U.S. dollar (USD) lost 3.78 percent of its value against the Tajik national currency, the somoni, during yesterday.

Yesterday morning, the market buying and selling exchange rates between USD and TJS in Dushanbe were 1:6.30 and 1:6.32 respectively.   By the evening, the market buying and selling exchange rates have fallen to 1:6.0 and 1:6.02 respectively.

Specialists from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) attribute USD depreciation to measures taken by the bank new management, decrease in demand for USD, and increase in migrant remittance flows.
