Nearly 5.5 kg of heroin confiscated from two residents of Khujand

KHUJAND, May 5, Asia-Plus  — More than five kilograms of heroin were intercepted at Khujand airport yesterday, according to the Sughd customs directorate.   

An inspection of passengers on the Khujand-Moscow flight found 5.369 kilograms of heroin hidden in a luggage belonging to the Khujand residents — 21-year-old Abduvosit Qahhorov and his 19-year-old sister Zarrina Qahhorova.   

A criminal case has been instituted on drug trafficking charges and an investigation is under way.
