DUSHANBE, January 6, 2016, Asia-Plus — This year, Dushanbe will host celebrations to mark Tajikistan’s Independence, which is marked on December 9.
This year, Tajikistanis will have four days rest on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Independence Day – from September 8 through September 11, an official source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the main event – the theatrical show – will be held at the Central Republican Stadium in the evening of September 9.
“September 8, 9, 10 and 11 will be declared days off, and therefore, Tajikistanis will have four days rest this year,” the source added.
Tajikistan official declared its independence from the disintegrating Soviet Union on September 9, 1991. Independence Day is celebrated in Tajikistan with various theatrical events, conferences and meetings.
