DUSHANBE, April 4, Asia-Plus  — Over the first three months of this year, nine joint operations by liaison officers from the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) and Afghan law enforcement agencies have led to the seizure of some 300 kilograms of drugs, with more than 253 kilograms of them being heroin, Asia-Plus has learned at a DCA.  

Due to support of the DCA liaison officers, 44 Afghan traffickers dealing with smuggling drugs into Tajikistan have been detained and two heroin labs have been destroyed over the report period.  

Besides, 50 hectares of poppy plantations have been destroyed and a large amount of weapons and 132 kilograms of precursors have been intercepted over the same three-month period, the DCA source said.
