DUSHANBE, January 18, 2016, Asia-Plus – Zinatullo Ismoilzoda, director of the TV channel Simoi Mustaqili Tojikiston (Independent Television of Tajikistan), has been elected new head of Tajik Journalists’ Union (TJU).
TJU convened a congress in Dushanbe on January 16 and SMT-TV Director Zinatullo Ismoilzoda was elected new head of the Union, replacing Akbarali Sattorov, who died suddenly in August last year.
Four other persons have also been nominated to the post of head of TJU, namely Sayof Mizrob, Gul Zard, Suhrobsho Farrukhsho and Yoqub Ismoilzoda.
The limited liability company Simoi Mustaqili Tojikiston was registered with the Ministry of Justice on August 8, 2006.
Zinatullo Ismoilzoda, 43, graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Tajik National University in 1994. By government’s decree he was appointed Director of the Media Academy in November 2015.
