Areas under potatoes to increase in Ishkashim this year

Pamir Media

DUSHANBE, March 11, Asia-Plus –  Areas under potatoes will have been increased in GBAO’s Ishkashim district this year.

Speaking in an interview with the Khorog news agency Pamir Media, Imomdod Farhodov, the deputy head of the GBAO agriculture directorate, said that special farming units dealing with potato growing only would be set up in the district.

“This year, the Ministry of Agriculture has promised to send up to 300 tons of seed potatoes to the region and we will send a part of them to Ishkashim,” Farhodov said, noting that potato growing is the most profitable sector for the Ishkashim farmers.
