DUSHANBE, March 11, Asia-Plus  — A series of CIS events are being held this week. 

According to press release issued by the CIS Executive Committee, an international conference to discuss the Aral Sea problems will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on March 11-12, and the commission for economic issues at the CIS Economic Council will meet in Moscow tomorrow.  

Besides, three events will be held on March 12 and 13: a joint consultative commission for disarmament matters will meet in Minsk, Belarus; and a session of the permanent commission for studying experiences on state construction and local government within the CIS Parliamentary Assembly as well as a session of the joint commission for harmonization of laws on combating terrorism, crime and drug trafficking will be held in St. Petersburg.  

An expert group for coordination of a draft agreement on interaction among the CIS defense ministries in controlling radiation, chemical and biological situation will meet in Moscow on March 13-14.
