DUSHANBE, May 18, 2016, Asia-Plus – The Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of CIS Member Nations will hold a meeting in Minsk, Belarus on May 19.

The CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev will also attend the meeting that will discuss impact of global geopolitical situation on the regional security in Central Asia (CA), according to the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting participants will also discuss the progress of implementation of the program on collaboration in combating terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism designed for 2014-2016. 

Besides, they will discuss the results of work of the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center in 2015 and decisions adopted at a session of the Coordinating Council and Technical Committee of the United Database of the CIS Security Agencies and Special Services on Combating Organized Crime.

The Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of CIS Member-States was created in 1997 based on a decision by the Council of CIS Heads of State, for promoting cooperation and coordinating actions between the states’ security agencies and special services in fighting international organized crime and in other areas of activity.
