DUSHANBE, August 17, 2016, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan has reportedly increased manufacturing of oil products over the first seven months of this year.

According to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan (Agency), about 70,000 tons of oil products have been manufactured in Tajikistan in January-July this year, which was 30.3 percent more than in the same period last year.

The Agency attributes the increase in the volume of oil products manufactured in Tajikistan to the increase in production of gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil and bitumen in the country.

Over the report period, Tajikistan has produced more than 2,200 tons of diesel fuel (a 1.6 percent increase compared to January-July 2016), 396 tons of gasoline (a 14 percent increase compared to January-July 2015), about 3,700 tons of fuel oil (a 30 percent increase), and 62,000 tons of bitumen (a 44 percent increase).

Meanwhile, Tajikistan has reportedly produced a total of about 7.5 billion somoni worth of industrial goods over the same seven-month period.  Compared to January-July 2015 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods has amounted to 113.5 percent.
