Flowers festival to be held in Tajik capital this year

DUSHANBE, January 31, Asia-Plus  — By capital mayor’s resolution of January 30  a flowers festival titled “Flowers of Dushanbe” will be held in Dushanbe from April 15 to July 15, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman fro the capital mayor, said.  

According to him, the event is dedicated to promote improvement of the Tajik capital and increase green spaces in the city.  

Municipal services, organizations and enterprises based in Dushanbe as well as individuals will take part in the festival, the spokesman said.  

The Dushanbe main finance directorate is to provide 19,000 somonis from mayor’s reserve fund for rewarding the festival winners.  

The district the will win the competition will be given 3, 500 somonis, second place – 2,500 somonis and third place – 2,000 somonis.  Enterprises will be given 2,500, 2,000 and 1,500 somonis respective, and individuals – 2,000, 1,500 and 1,000 somonis respectively.
