Police together with power engineering specialists have begun raids to check power theft, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.
Joint raids conducted by police officers and representatives of the Dushanbe power supply network over the last weekends reportedly revealed four cases of electricity theft in the city.
A 55-year-old resident of Dushanbe’s Sino district illegally connected his bakery to a power grid. The damage caused by him to the Dushanbe power supply network was estimated at 15,400 somoni.
A 48-year-old resident of Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district also illegally connected his bakery to a power grid. The damage caused by him to the Dushanbe power supply network was estimated at 18,200 somoni.
Besides, the raids revealed that a 22-year-old resident of Dushanbe had been stealing electricity from a power grid. The damage caused by him to the Dushanbe power supply network was estimated at 2,800 somoni.
