Over the first eleven  months of this year, inflation in Tajikistan has stood at 5.8 percent, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

In November, inflation reportedly stood at 0.6 percent, which is 0.4 percent higher than in the previous month.  In October, inflation stood at 0.2 percent.

This year, the highest inflation rate was reported in January – 1.4 percent.

The lowest inflation rate this year was reported in March, May and October – 0.2 percent.

The government reportedly expects the year-end inflation for this year to stand at 7.5 percent.

The Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan notes that an average monthly inflation rate for January-November this year has been 0.52 percent.

Recall, the year-end inflation for last year stood at 5.1 percent.

According to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations, the year-end inflation for 2016 is expected to stand at 6.40.  In the long-term, the Tajikistan inflation rate is projected to trend around 5.00 percent in 2020, according to Trading Economics econometric models.

Tajikistan inflation rate forecasts are reportedly projected using an autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model calibrated using Trading Economics analysts’ expectations.

Meanwhile, non-foodstuffs rose in cost by 0.7 percent last month, prices of foodstuffs in November increased by 0.6 percent, and prices and rates for services rendered to the population last month rose 0.5 percent. 

Prices of foodstuffs have risen in cost by 5.8 percent over the first eleven months. 

Over the same eleven-month period, non-foodstuffs have risen 5.7 percent. 

Over the report period, prices and rates for services rendered to the population have risen 5.8 percent.
