On Thursday March 30, Mr. Hajime Kitaoka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Tajikistan handed over Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation to Tajikistan Judo Federation, according to Japan’s Embassy in Dushanbe.

Since its establishment, Tajikistan Judo Federation has been taking an active part in improving the training conditions for judo wrestlers and spreading judo in the country.  At the beginning only a few people practiced judo, but now the number of judo players reached 5000 people in the country and the Judo Federation has grown the first Olympic medalists.  Therefore, the Commendation was awarded to Tajikistan Judo Federation for its merits in the development of judo, as one of the most popular sports in the country.

In recent years, within the framework of international relations, more and more people are making significant progress in various fields and are making an invaluable contribution to strengthening friendship between Japan and other countries.  On the one hand, the Commendation is awarded to those individuals and organizations that have made maximum efforts to achieve high results, but on the other hand, it expresses a request for assistance to people who are directly involved in activities in this direction.
