Food safety managers from Tajikistan will participate in the training course on agricultural production safety in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the European Union Delegation to Tajikistan, the first stage of the training course devoted to Requirements and Principles of Agricultural Production Safety on the basis of the international Global GAP standard (Appropriate Agricultural Practice) will take place at TES-Group training center, Osh, Kyrgyzstan from April 3-8, 2017.

It is planned to carry out at least three cycles of 18 days training in 2017.  After completion, the course participants will have to pass examination to obtain the status of internal auditor according to requirements of the Global GAP standard.

The main objective of this initiative is reportedly to train food safety managers (internal auditor status) in the fruit and vegetable production sector in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

In the short term, this course will enable the trained representatives of trade and business intermediary organizations to promote food safety improvement of regional deliveries of fresh fruit and vegetable products both on internal, and on foreign markets.

This training course is organized by the international organization Hilfswerk Austria International within the “Advanced Support Program to Central Asian Business Intermediary Organizations (BIOs) – Specialized and Integrated Services for Export-Oriented Food Processing SMEs – CANDY – IV”, funded by the program of the European Union “Central Asia – Invest IV” project, together with the UNDP Regional Project “Wider Europe: Aid for Trade for Central Asia,” financed by the Government of Finland.
