DUSHANBE, December 22, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan has been ranked 69th globally in terms of the number of tickets sold and 37th in terms of the number of cinemas in the country, Washington Profile said referring to the UNSECO rating, according Kyrgyzstan’s news agency 24.kg. 

According to the report, Tajikistan now has 172 cinemas.   

24.kg said that according to international organization, at present there are some 59,000 cinemas throughout the world, and the United States with 15,500 cinemas stands in the first place globally in terms of the number of cinemas.  The first five top countries also include Ukraine (7,795 cinemas), Germany (4,712 cinemas), Belarus (3,780), and Spain (3,354).   

Russia with 1,416 cinemas has been ranked 11th, Kazakhstan 12th (1,129) and Kyrgyzstan 19th (293).
