DUSHANBE, October 31, Asia-Plus  — Two judges in the southern Khatlon province have been arrested on suspicion of having been involved in corruption, Asia-Plus has learned at the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.   

Officers from the Khatlon anticorruption directorate on October 17 arrested judge of the Qubodiyon district court Tolib Kholiqov red-handed hen he was taking bribe ($1,500) from local resident.  “Investigation has established that Kholiqov was involved in three other bribery cases for a total amount of $7,190,” the source at the anticorruption agency said.

The same day, Davlatqadam Mirzoyev, a judge with the Jilikul district court, was also arrested for bribe taking.  According to investigation, Mirzoyev was also involved in three other bribery cases for a total amount of 1,600, according the source.
