QURGHON TEPPA, October 30, Asia-Plus  — On Monday October 29, U Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan Ms. Tracey Ann Jacobson paid a working visit to the southern Khatlon province. 

During her stay in Qurghon Teppa, Ms. Jacobson met with representatives of local youth in an office of the NGO Fidokor to discuss a progress of projects supported by the US Government.   

The meeting participants praised the US-sponsored projects and US Ambassador for her part said they intend to open American Corners in Qurghon Teppa and Kulob.  

Ms. Jacobson also took part in an official opening of the project for reconstruction of bathhouse at the boarding school in the Vakhsh district.  The project has been implemented under financial support of the US Government, which has provided $10,000 for this project.   

In addition to this project, the Physicians with Heart organization through its children’s project in cooperation with the Counterpart International, the HOPE Project and the Hissor-based NGO Mounis has donated bi-level beds and washing machine to the boarding school.  Besides, they also pledged themselves to provide the school pupils with mattresses, blankets, clothing and an annual ration of multivitamins.
