DUSHANBE, October 30, Asia-Plus  — A ceremonial reception dedicated to the 84th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey was held at the Turkish Embassy in Dushanbe yesterday.  

Speaking at the reception, Turkish Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan Mr. Akif Aikhan noted that relations between Turkey and Tajikistan have been developing and Turkey has supported various projects in Tajikistan.  Thus, Turkey has helped Tajikistan rehabilitate an orphanage in Chorbogh, rehabilitate pump station in the Hissor district, as well as hold numerous social and cultural events.  

Noting that bilateral political, socioeconomic and cultural cooperation between the two countries has been expanding, Mr. Aikhan reminded that the both countries have held joint events to mark the 800th anniversary of Mawlana Rumi.  

Turkish Ambassador further added, “I would like to note that Turkey has waived visa for citizens of Tajikistan.” 

Senior representatives from the government, president’s office, as well as representatives from the public and media attended the reception.
