DUSHANBE, October 19, Asia-Plus — The 4th Tajikistan International Exhibition “CONSTRUCTION – TajikBuild 2007” opened in Dushanbe yesterday.
The construction exhibition TajikBuild 2007 that runs through October 20 is the promotion tool of Tajikistan construction industry to the foreign countries
Joura Zokirov, the head of the examination department of the Agency for Construction and Architecture, who is participating in the exhibition, told Asia-Plus that high prices of building materials in the country are conditioned “by shortage of these products and high demand among the population.”
According to him, a total volume of cement produced in Tajikistan is enough to meet only 20 percent of the country’s requirements, while the remaining 80 percent of this kind of building materials are delivered from other countries.
TajikBuild becomes one of the significant events in the building sector of Central Asia. TajikBuild enables its exhibitors and visitors alike not only to learn more about the secrets of production and application of an array of building materials, but also to see and compare the quality of products presented by different companies.
TajikBuild 2007 demonstrates the latest tendencies and developments in the market of construction materials and technologies. This year the exposition of the exhibition has been even more large-scale and located in two halls of the Kokhi Borbad State Complex in Dushanbe.
Totally, about 40 companies confirmed their participation in the exhibition. Also new member-states have appeared: China, Italy and Iran. About 15 exhibiting companies show at TajikBuild 2007 for the first time.
The exhibition consists of a number of sections, which allow the visitors to obtain detailed information on the latest developments in the construction industry. Traditionally, the attention of the specialists is drawn to the following sections: Construction Materials; Construction Equipment; Heating and Ventilation Systems; Windows and Doors; Saunas, Baths and Swimming Pools; Sanitary Engineering; Flooring; Lighting and Electrical Engineering; Interiors and Design. The exhibition has got 4 new sections: Road-Building Machinery”, “Paints and Varnishes”, “Roofing”, “Gardening and Landscape”.
Tajikistan’s State Committee for Construction and Architecture and Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) provide an official support for the exhibition, which is staged by ITECA Osiyo and I.T.E. Exhibitions & Conferences Ltd (UK).
Information support to the exhibition is provided by the leading specialized publications, information web-portals of Uzbekistan and the CIS countries.
The organizers of TajikBuild 2007 hope that thanks to the joint efforts made by organizers, governmental institutions, exhibitors and visitors, the exhibition will result in new business contacts and promising meetings, and help attract new investments to the economy of the Republic of Tajikistan.
